This Week in Fourth Grade....

Field Trip

Our classes will go to Moose Hill Audubon Sanctuary on Friday, May 31st.  Your child came home with a permission slip a few weeks ago.  If you don't have a permission slip, please let us know and we can send another one home.

Book Orders

We sent hom Book Orders last week.  Please send them back in with your child this week if you are planning on ordering.

Math Workshop

The kids worked very hard on the Math MCAS last week.  I am proud of the progress they have made throughout the year.

We started a project last week called "If the World Were a Village" based on the book with the same name.  We started the week by watching a video to go along with the book.  The concept looks at taking the entire world's population and creating a village of 100 people.  Within this population of 100 we will discover what fraction of the people would live in North America, the fraction of people in the village that would be children, the fraction of people who would not have enough food and water each day and many others.  We will continue the project this week as we use the data in the book to show decimals in picture form, write decimals, and compare and order decimals.  Be sure to ask your child what he or she is learning throughout the week!
